RCA Model F36676ET 36" TV

Message

TV is making a chirping noise when plugged in (about 1 second intervals).  Chirping gradually fades when the set is unplugged.  Set will not turn on when the power button is pushed.  Can you tell me what the problem is and how to fix it?

Model Number F36676ET

Gents, I am facing the same issue with my TV set.  Forgive my ignorance as I am not a technician nor have the tools to test the HOT or the flyback... (long story)  How much effort would be required to replace the transistors by a professional; If I were to take my set into a repair shop?  1 Hour, 1 Day...etc.  Any other culprits that could the cause of the issue?  What is an estimated repair time? Your help is greatly appreciated.. Mike

Thanks James... Is it worth having the set fixed or should I look into buying a new one?  A similar 36" would cost approx $400 US!!!
