Toshiba 43VJ13P RPTV - No Picture 90% Of The Time When Turned On

Message

Hi guys,

I've owned my Toshiba 43VJ13P RPTV for just under 2 years now. All of a sudden, a few days ago, I started to have serious trouble turning the TV on. When I try to turn the TV on (using either the power button on the TV, or the standby button on the remote), 90% of the time there is no picture at all, just complete blackness. The red light on the front of the TV is still red like normal and isn't flashing or anything. When the TV is in this state, it will not respond to any controls either on the TV itself, or using the remote.

Getting the TV to show a picture when turned on is pure pot luck. It's just a case of turning it off and on again, taking out the plug, and basically trying everything I can think of. It's completely random if the TV comes back on. When it does come back on, everything is perfectly normal and the TV responds to all controls.

I'd really appreciate any help or advice as to what might be the problem.

Thanks guys,

David.
