With power cord unplugged:  Try manually turning the main drive motor pulley, it my help you get the tape out. Also, is the tape still wound around the helix head?

I've got the tape out, however the power will not stay on and the screen reads; eject^T. Indicating that the tv still thinks the tape is loaded. Still need help!

Power off for about a minute then power on again. Maybe you can reset the circuit. If you still have the same problem, make sure that none of the sensor are blocked by debris (you may need to open the cover)

It seems I'm not the only one having problems with this model.  I've had my 13" tv/vcr for a little over a week now, and it has worked fine up til about 3hrs ago.  This is an incredible strange problem, and the Emerson tech people were no help (suprise/suprise).  Anyway, the problem  is with the sound.  If I am trying to watch regular tv I get a picture but no sound at all.  However, if I play a tape in it or hook up an external device using the A/V In jacks, I can hear them but not the tv stations...only static.  I tried changing out coax and unplugging everything from the tv (leaving it only connected to the cable jack), but still have the same problem.  If I run the cable signal through another vcr and then into the tv, I get the sound...as long as I have the external vcr turned on.  Any suggestions?
