Matsui TVR180T - Cannot select 'CH TUNING' option

Message

I have a Matsui portable TV/Video Combi. I have recently changed the external aerial to receive Digital pictures and that supplies feeds to all the TV's in the house. I have tuned in all other TV's appropriately. For some reason when I try to tune in the channels again on the Matsui, it will NOT let me choose the CH TUNING option and skips right past it !!!! All other options are selectable and I cannot find out whether this is a 'feature' of some kind, or just some unfortunate fault, which will need to be repaired ??

Hello Well you may well have a fault, probably a corrupted NVM. However before you get the unit repaired check the clock is set and that the timer blocks are empty. Believe it or not this will prevent you from accessing the tuning menu.

Thanks guys, I have checked that the Security lock is definitely off and I have also checked that the clock is set. Please can you explain what you mean by "Timer Blocks" ? Are these the countdown timers you can set before standby mode kicks in, called SLEEP option ? Thanks.......Ian

Is it not possible to manually tune the set without the remote, i.e. by removing the back cover ? It does sound a bit odd for this to be a fault but I will bow to the experts knowledge !!!

Hi,

I also have this problem. Has anyone found the definite solution? Does Chris' solution involve taking the back cover off (I'm not sure where the "i" button is.)

Thanks, I'm looking forward to using my TV again!

Richard
