Philips 21PT1321 Stuck in Standby

Message

Hi, there, my Philips suffered from no images for some time unless I pushed the circuit board. Finally, it turned out that two legs of the frame op IC are disconnected sometimes. I have then soldered them firmly, but now the problem is that the TV is always stuck in standby mode with blinking red light after switching on the power. Any suggestion and tips will be deeply appreciated. Is there a circuit map for this model? Thanks a lot.

Hello This set uses the Philips L7.1A chassis. A circuit diagram will be available. I can sell you a schematic layout for £5.00 if you like. The blinking led indictaes an overload situation. The line transistor may be short circuit or you may have an overload in the frame stage you were working on. Desolder the frame IC and see if the set comes on. It might come on then go off after a few seconds but this is enough of a test to indicate the frame stage is at fault. Garry enquiries@cgelect.co.uk

I HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH A PHILIPS SET, IT TURNED OUT I DROPPED A FINE SLIVER OF SOLDER ACROSS TWO PINS AND SHORTED OUT THE CHIP. IF THIS IS THE CASE A NEW CHIP WILL BE REQUIRED, NOT A BAD IDEA TO CHANGE ITS ASSOCIATED CAPACITORS AS WELL.

Hi, Garry, sorry for the late reply as I was engaged my own work recently. I don't think I may need to buy a complete circuit diagram for my TV as I just want to spend some spare time to make it work before I go ahead to buy a new and larger screen TV. I have a few questions here for you and hope you can help me to answer them asap. How to check if the line transistor is short circuit or not? What is the part# of the suspected transistor on board? If the frame stage is found to be at fault, can it be fixed by just replacing the IC chip?
