Ferguson Child Lock Activated

Message

I bought a Ferguson 59P7A from a couple retiring to Spain a while ago. The remote was 'iffy' so I replaced it with a universal unit (and threw the original away!) Then I discovered it had a child lock and one of the buttons set it - now I can't get rid of it. The code has been changed from the default 0000 and the colour cobination sequence of red, blue, green & yellow for 2 secs only works with an original remote - which is no longer available. Have I got to throw the TV away?

I tried a 'guaranteed replacement remote' - and it doesn't work! If you have the same problem don't waste your money on anything but a genuine remote.

i have a Ferguson 59P7A and i cannot clear the child lock with the colour sequence codes on the original remote. Is there any particular time that needs to be used when pressing each key? Do i have to hold them all down in that sequence? any ideas please?

You dont need the original remote to unlock the TV, I have a "magic" remote and managed to unlock it by:

PRESS; Red then Green then Blue then PRESS AND HOLD Yellow for 10sec.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Scott
