If you`re sure that`s the problem, It`s easy. 3 solder joints on the transistor legs, 1 screw holding the device to the heatsink. you MUST use heatsink grease before mounting to heatsink or it will overheat and die again.

may not be shorted base to emitter may just ck shorted in circuit
