VCR/TV Combo - Tape Stuck |
Message |
| I have a Philips tv/vcr combo (model CCB092AT02) that will not eject the tape. When I turn the TV on to eject the tape, it shuts off after a few seconds. Can someone help? |

RE: VCR/TV Combo - Tape Stuck |

Hello,
Same problem here. Had it apart four times now. I have the mode switch out and can manipulate it manually. I can go from "T eject" to Stop, to REW even get the vcr status to disapear but the unit still turns off soon after I quit fooling with the mode. When it is back on sure enough it states "T eject". Press play and it says "no cassette". so the unit knows there is no tape. I believe it is a failure of some component. But I dont know which and I am getting pretty frustrated. All I want it to use the TV portion of the unit. Any body have more ideas on what to try??? |

To Larry,
Once you have the back cover off, see if you located a pulley or belt, turn it slowly to get the cassete tape to move. Most common problem with vcr's are the rubber belt drive.
To Dave,
Could have just a dirty tape sensor or the cassete is the loader but the tape itself is not treaded to the drives. Try to peak from the front opening of the VCR, you may be able to see better.
Margaret,
There is no need to remove the circuit board, see suggestions for Larry & Dave above.
