My sony won't switch on when turned off at on/off switch. However sometimes if you leave switch in for a count of five you hear a popping sound when you try to tun on. If you can get it to come on and put it on standbuy it will start most every time . Does any one have any ideas please.

Dear Alan

I have solved this problem on my tv, it was due to dry joints near the power supply area. On close inspection there were many allmost invisible dryjoints resoldering solved the probem. also if i hit the top of mine the tv would come on.

hope this helps, matt.
