| i have got the same problem and after speaking with some really well qualified television technicians, they told me it was the vertical output transistor. I have no knowledge of what to look for in a television when i am repairing it because i dont know where to start. as a electronics student i will tell you that if you look at the main board on the right side(back of tube facing you), just twards the front of the 2 large inductors(wire wrapped around a white roll) there are 2 transistors in front of them(labeled) (Q5300 and Q5301) I am in great belief that Q5301 is the vertical output transistor because you should get a "1500or so" reading when you put your multimeter to diode(-----I>I---) and test with the red lead to Emitter (E) and black lead to collector (C).......... they are labeled b for base, c for collector, and e for emitter on the bottom of the board at the solder joints. now all i have to do is find were to find these transistors and i will be all set. any further questions or comments feel free to email. |
