I've had this TV for quite some time and its had numerous problems. this time, the problem started when I tried turning on the TV. It turned on and then suddenly turned off immediately. I tried turning it back but nothing happened. I thought about replacing the fuse but this didn't work either. can someone help me with this problem?

this unit has retrace with red also volume up brings menu up change channels also brings up menu. also vertical is about four inches down from top also four from bottom i also had problem similiar with a quaser 25. put micro in result same as before strange problem? help from a panasonic maven. thankyou

Before the display fizzled out and went completly black...I head a loud snap! I took all boards out but could not find anything suspicious! I can change channels and hear sound but only a black screen....No menu..no display.

the problem is most likely on g board cap explodes due to shorts in circut pull out g board and you will see problem

Hi Philip, Did you find out what's wrong with your TV ? I had the exact same problem with my tv last night!! I was switching TV/Video when the screen blinked and went dead ! Please let me know how it goes with ur TV. Thanks again !!

My XBR had very similar symptoms. I determined it was a cold solder joint on the power supply board. I later heard from a repair shop that these TVs suffer from cold solder joints on the power supply board, this is common.. I was told to pull the board and carefully look over the solder side for cold joints or just resolder any large solder pad just in case.

problem sounds like High voltage transformer,or H>V tripler has opened up do you hear high voltage also check to see if crt's are lit
